Connecting International & Australian Women
Welcome to the Women’s International Club of Canberra.
We are a Club of more than 300 women from 50 countries who enjoy our city and what it has to offer. Newcomers to Canberra, as well as long term residents from other countries, are invited to join us and are warmly welcomed. A special welcome is given to diplomats and their families, and those who work in the Embassies.
Our Club provides the opportunity to establish friendships and enjoy the activities we offer, showcasing both the national institutions of Canberra and the hidden treasures of our city. We come together to celebrate this diversity, learn about each other, share interests, forge new friendships and support each other.

-
We meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month (February to November) from 10am to 12 for a Contact Morning which includes morning tea, followed by Club reports and announcements and a guest speaker or a cultural morning.
-
The highlight of membership is the interest groups, known as Circles, that are offered by Members and generally held once per month, some more frequently. There are nearly 50 Circles available for Members to choose from - options include bridge, mahjong, tennis, walking groups, book clubs, language groups, craft groups, dining groups, photography, meditation, origami, aikido and many more.
These smaller groups provide an excellent opportunity to develop friendships as well as start or maybe reconnect with a hobby or interest.
-
We warmly welcome international short-term residents and members of the diplomatic community and encourage you to join. Many of our Australian members either have their origins from another country or have lived overseas on diplomatic or business postings and consequently appreciate the challenges facing new arrivals to our city.
Australian and Permanent Residents of Canberra are also very welcome to join but must be invited by a current Member.
-
All potential members are required to attend a Contact Morning as a guest of a Member before they can submit an application to join.
Australians and Permanent Residents must be introduced by a current member.
International Visitors who do not know a member should make direct contact with the President (wicpresidentact2026@gmail.com) to express their interest to join.
